Hills Attend HSBC Global Connections Midlands Finals

In June 2014 Hills Numberplates made it through to the HSBC Global Connections Midlands Regional Finals.

Some of the most outstanding businesses in the Midlands’ were named; the companies had the opportunity to join an exclusive international business exchange to a dynamic overseas market, as well as financial support for their growth ambitions.

They had to battle it out in the Midlands regional final in June at The Birmingham Town Hall – aiming to convince the judges that they deserved the title of the region’s most dynamic company.

According to Roy Harris, HSBC’s Regional Director for Commercial Banking in the Midlands, the high standard of entrants made it exceptionally difficult to select this year’s regional finalists.

“We saw applications from a wide range of business sectors, but unsurprisingly for the Midlands region, most came from manufacturing businesses. These included manufacturers involved in traditional metal-bashing, using techniques perfected over many years, and others using the most advanced hi-tech methods,” he added.

“What stood out for me was the ingenuity and innovation shown by the owners and managers of these great British businesses to get them to where they are today.”
